Describe yourself in one word.
What do you love the most about creating art in New Orleans? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work?
I love the Freedom of creating art in New Orleans. I am inspired by all aspects of NOLA. I love the tile street names, the graffiti-ed buildings and stop signs, the palm and oak trees, the wonderful statues, the Mardi Gras beads in the trees... you name it, IT inspires my heart!
Describe your creative process. Are there any rituals or rites of passage you exercise before you begin a new piece?
I work on a daily schedule. Sometimes I think about my art for weeks before I begin the initial stages of drawing, painting or creating . Other times I just get to work. Most things begin in my Re Ti Ro Sketchbooks after I have thought about them for minutes or weeks. And like thunder with lightening timing their are off on their own.
Where do you draw inspiration?
Mostly from my own imagination, visiting art galleries or museums, my wife, my family, my friends, books, songs, music, poetry, television, the web, Instagram and mainly other Artist. I am an avid art and art history lover, visiting many museums and galleries.
Who are your artistic influences or gurus?
My pantheon of Art mythology has many Goddess's and God's here are a few in no particular order other than I thought of this one first, but all are much loved by me; Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Jean Michel Basquiat, Amedeo Modigliani, Roger Shimomura, Utamaro, Kehinde Wiley, Thomas Hart Benton, Henri Matisse, Picasso, Larry Rivers, Andy Warhol, Alice Neel, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Lucian Freud, Philip Pearlstein, Otto Dix, Mark Twain, E.E. Where can we find you when you are not creating art?
Writing poetry, walking my dogs, playing with the bunies and spending time with my wife in the city or at home. I love going to gallery openings and art museums. I also love going to baseball games and a proper night out on the town. Buy me a dressed shrimp Po Boy and a beer and I'll tell you more!
What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
I love Halloween, Spring and Summer.
I enjoy early mornings, quite afternoons and late nights with full moons.
What is something people don’t know about you? A fun fact.

My rabbits names are Tally Mon, named after Harry Belafonte "Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)" and Miss Penelope.
My dogs names are Hank, he is a Beabull (Beagle Bulldog Mix) and Taz is an English Bulldog mate.
My birthday dish is chicken and waffles and pink strawberry cake.
