Katherine St. Paul Hill

Artist + Katherine St. Paul Hill

My maternal Grandmother (Barabara St.Paul) and Grandfather (LeDoux Provosty) met and began their family here in New Orleans. My mother and father came together while they studied at Tulane. I grew up in the woods of West Virginia, but this city has always felt like a second home to me. Just the smell of it brings me to a state of deep spiritual connection.

I studied art and explored many venues of creative expression in Baltimore, then continued my life adventure living in Los Angeles and eventually New York City. Meeting and collaborating with contemporary creatives and absorbing the variety of cultural venues in different places was and continues to be integral in the development of my artistic self. Each time I came back to New Orleans, I knew deep down that this was my living city. I finally moved here in 2016. Family is here, friends are here—old and new. Community is here. Culture is here. New Orleans is here.

I am a creative soul who works in many different mediums. The interpretation, contemplation, abstraction and celebration of life comes in all forms.
