I was born and raised in New York City and graduated from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. While in med school, I had my first one woman art show and practiced medicine in NO for almost 20 years before retiring from my Ophthalmology practice after my husband died in 1985. I moved to Santa Barbara in 1995 to be a full time artist. Missing medicine I went back to doctoring part-time in 2007 and moved back to New Orleans in 2013, to paint and practice.
I have painted life-size commissioned portraits for the Robert Mondavi Culinary Awards of Excellence, Mick Jagger, Queen Noor of Jordan, Chefs Paul Prudhomme, Emeril Lagasse, Julia Child, and Carol Burnett's cat, Mabel. In 2013, when I returned to New Orleans, I painted the Louis Armstrong French Quarter Summer Fest poster of SATCHMO!
I enjoy painting figurative work, children, pets, motorcycles, and landscapes. My loose style typifies the energy and fun that is my work.
