I'm a New Orleans-born multidisciplinary artist living and working in New Orleans, Louisiana. For over a decade, my robustly vivid paintings have pierced through the rich pulsating cultural fabric of New Orleans and its people. My visual work has been featured and exhibited in an array of venues including Axiom Gallery, The Mckenna Museum of African American Art and more recently, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. My career background includes musical production, education, and fashion design, which has given me a unique capability to focus on a range of subjects not commonly covered by other visual artists. When people look at my work, I want them to see a part of themselves in it, a sense of nostalgia. I was also trained at The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.

Describe your art in three words. True. Vibrant. Perceptive.
Describe yourself in one word. Observant.
What do you love the most about creating art in New Orleans? What particular part of your immediate environment, in your neighborhood specifically influences your work? I love how their are a lot of cultures grounded in this city. I'm always eager to learn people's lineage. I like understanding how certain people cook, why they came here, just interacting in general. Im from the inner-city where things are depicted as rough and neglected. Me being born where I am, I see the beauty in people. I've always seen it so I draw inspiration from seeing people as their true self.
Describe your creative process. Are there any rituals or rites of passage you exercise before you begin a new piece? When I'm home, I have to wait until everyone is asleep. I usually prepare my easels first, then I create a playlist to suit whatever mood I'm in. And then, I add one color at a time to my palette.
Where do you draw inspiration? I draw inspiration from people. I draw inspiration from memories.
Who are your artistic influences or gurus? A guru in my eyes was always Bob Ross. He was always so calm, as an adult, I think I know why now :) But his approach was always so smooth and understanding. I always wanted to have that much control in my approach to my work.
In New Orleans, art and music go hand in hand. What type of music, band or song lyric best describes your work? I would describe my work as: if the Hot 8 Brass Band did a cover of "Bling Bling" by Cash Money Records, my style would be the saxophone solo of that song.
Where can we find you when you are not creating art? In bed, just kidding (a little.) When I'm not creating art, I'm usually with my family. Although I paint at home sometimes, I like to spend weekends or some days away. Being away from creating is hard at times because art is usually inspiration driven and doesn't necessarily follow a schedule.
What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year? I like Tuesday mornings. Its a really calm time when you clearly remember your weekend, and the drab of starting the week over (specifically Monday) has just passed. So now, u live in a space where things are calm and as normal as they get... A Tuesday.
What is something people don’t know about you? A fun fact. People don't know that I am heavily involved in creating music. I spend a lot of time in production studios arranging and composing music.
