When I painted this piece I felt limited by my own mind, or as if my imagination was more disconnected from me than it should have been for a "creative" person. I wouldn't realize till later that most of the works I created between 2016-2020 were a way for me to workout different shadow aspects of myself. This aspect being: not creative
Each painting is a collaboration between the subject and the viewer and I try to capture the emotions portrayed to the best of my ability. My paintings start with a photoshoot, I later reinterpret the images in the digital space and then recreate them on canvas. In this way my work is not only coming from my own imagination but is also influenced by the subjects positions, expressions, and even energy. It wouldn't be until a few years later that I would find my way to pushing this boundary. I've always been inspired by what I see and trying to convey it in a realistic way.
